Refund and Returns Policy
Effective Date: 5th January 2026
Company: Mckins Technology Limited
Business Type: Computer, Laptop, Mobile Phone & Accessories Sales
1. Purpose
This Refund and Returns Policy outlines the terms under which customers may return products, request replacements, or receive refunds for computers, laptops, mobile phones, tablets, accessories, and related products purchased from Mckins Technology Limited.
Our goal is to ensure that every customer receives genuine, functional products and a fair, transparent after-sales experience.
2. Eligibility for Returns
Customers may request a return where:
- The product supplied is defective or malfunctioning upon delivery.
- The wrong product, model, specification, colour, or storage capacity was supplied.
- The product received is materially different from what was ordered.
- The product was damaged before or during delivery.
- The product is covered by a manufacturer's warranty and the applicable warranty terms provide for replacement or other remedy.
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, products must be returned within 7 calendar days of delivery for an initial return assessment.
3. Conditions for Returning Products
To qualify for a return, the product should, where reasonably possible:
- Be returned with the original invoice, receipt, or proof of purchase.
- Include the original box, packaging, manuals, chargers, cables, accessories, and other supplied components.
- Have its serial number, IMEI number, service tag, or other identifying information intact and matching our sales records.
- Not have been intentionally damaged, modified, repaired, or tampered with by the customer or an unauthorised technician.
- Not show signs of liquid damage, severe physical damage, misuse, neglect, or abnormal use.
For phones, tablets, laptops, and other devices containing personal information, customers are responsible for backing up and removing their personal data, accounts, passwords, SIM cards, memory cards, and device locks before returning the product.
4. Defective Products
If a product develops a fault, Mckins Technology Limited will first assess the product to determine whether the issue is a manufacturing defect, warranty-covered fault, accidental damage, misuse, or another cause.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable warranty terms, we may:
- Repair the product;
- Replace the defective component;
- Replace the product with an equivalent or comparable product; or
- Approve a refund where appropriate.
Warranty claims may be subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms and conditions.
5. Wrong or Incorrect Product
If we supplied the wrong product or a product that materially differs from the customer's confirmed order, the customer should notify us promptly.
Where the error is confirmed to be ours, we will arrange for the incorrect product to be returned and, where applicable, provide the correct product at no additional product or delivery cost.
6. Damaged Products
Customers should inspect products as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If a product arrives visibly damaged, customers should notify Mckins Technology Limited within 24 hours and provide photographs or videos showing the condition of the package and product.
Where the damage occurred before delivery or during transportation and the claim is supported by our assessment, we may arrange a replacement, repair, or refund as appropriate.
7. Change-of-Mind Returns
Because computers, phones, and other electronic devices are high-value products, change-of-mind returns are subject to the company's approval and applicable consumer-protection requirements.
Where a change-of-mind return is accepted, the product may need to be:
- Unused or in resalable condition;
- Returned with all original packaging and accessories;
- Free from scratches, dents, liquid damage, or other signs of use; and
- Accompanied by valid proof of purchase.
A reasonable restocking, inspection, or delivery charge may apply where legally permitted and where this was disclosed to the customer before purchase.
8. Non-Returnable Items
Unless defective or otherwise covered by applicable law, the following may not be eligible for return:
- Software licences or activation keys that have been activated;
- Downloadable digital products;
- Products that have been personalised, configured, or modified at the customer's request;
- Consumable items that have been opened or used;
- Products damaged through misuse, accidents, liquid exposure, power surges, or unauthorised repairs;
- Products missing essential components or identification labels; and
- Products returned outside the applicable return or warranty period.
9. Refunds
Where a refund is approved, it will normally be made using the original payment method where reasonably practicable.
Refund processing may take 5–10 business days after the returned product has been received, inspected, and the refund has been approved.
For bank transfers or other payment methods where the original payment route cannot reasonably be used, the customer may be required to provide accurate bank or payment details.
Any applicable delivery, restocking, transaction, or other charges will be handled in accordance with the terms communicated at the time of purchase and applicable law.
10. Exchange and Replacement
Where a replacement is approved, the replacement will normally be the same model and specification.
If the original product is unavailable, Mckins Technology Limited may, subject to customer agreement and applicable law, offer:
- An equivalent alternative product;
- An upgraded product upon payment of the applicable price difference; or
- A refund.
11. Warranty
Products sold by Mckins Technology Limited may carry a manufacturer's warranty or a company warranty, depending on the product.
Warranty coverage does not normally include damage resulting from:
- Accidental drops or impact;
- Liquid or moisture exposure;
- Electrical or power-related damage;
- Improper installation or use;
- Unauthorised repairs or modifications;
